Fall is here and I am LOVING it! We welcomed our baby boy on September 16th and to be honest that’s usually right in the heart of when I usually decorate and plant all my fall plants & pots. But I knew I wanted things completed before he made his arrival. That being said I went with a SUPER simple SUPER easy approach this year.
I got it all done the day/night before he was born, thanks to my mom for the help planting. She laughed at me & my husband thought I was insane that at 9 pm the evening before I was being induced that I was decorating the front porch with pumpkins. I just knew I wanted it done before baby boy made his arrival! I am finally getting back in the swing of things after taking the last 2 weeks pretty slow. But I wanted to make sure I shared our front porch with you guys.
I always mix real & faux pumpkins on the porch but this year I used mostly faux. I only picked up 3 regular old orange pumpkins to add to the grouping. Faux pumpkins although a pain to store sometimes 🙂 are TOTALLY WORTH THE INVESTMENT! I love that on a year like this year when I didn’t have the time and didn’t want to spend the money (or energy!) I could just whip the faux ones out. I added corn stalks to our porch – while they are messy I just don’t feel like it’s fall without them!
My plants I kept way too ordinary with simple mums. Because is it really fall in the Midwest without mums? 🙂
Like I said this was a super simple decorating this year! So much you can do it when you are super pregnant – ha! But I love the simplicity and ease of it, especially for us this year with Tripp’s arrival. It just proves you don’t have to do much to change things up for the season! You can shop all my sources below – make sure to check out the cute door mat I grabbed from Target. I LOVE IT 🙂 “hope you brought wine” I saved to put it out till right after baby was born because let’s be real I was completely sober all of 2020 so far and this was NOT the year to be sober – ha!
Hope you enjoy and are having a great start to your fall!
